Our Approach

At KAMAKA we have a creative coaching approach that supports women on an individual basis, helps them to address questions around the challenges associated gender and equality. We support the establishment of a culture that welcomes equality and open gender talk.

We have person-centered approach to coaching women tailored to needs of the individual and the context in which they work, that empowers and facilitates self-awareness.

There are three common threads:

  • Creating and building an authentic rapport. This is fundamental to a successful coaching relationship. It values congruence, genuineness and understanding.
  • Being holistic using a blend of coaching tools, techniques and models with content knowledge responsive to the client's needs.
  • A commitment to facilitating learning that supports change, challenges thinking and stimulates creativity, growth and self-fulfilment.

Our coaching is geared to the needs of women leaders, women in business, aspirational individuals and senior executives in private, public and third sector organisations.

The coaching process

“Athletes, singers and an array of others have been using coaches for years. It is only recently that the business community has begun to see the wisdom of hiring executive coaches.”
Harvard Business Review

Executive One-to-One Coaching

Every executive coaching relationship is precisely tailored and our process is made up of five steps:

Step One: Engagement and setting the foundation.

Step Two: Information Gathering and Coaching Plan. (This can include shadowing and direct observation, where the coach will observe the coachee in 'real-time', such as in meetings). The coaching plan will may also be process-led depending on specific objectives.

Step Three: The coaching relationship. Regular meetings (usually face-to-face, blended with telephone coaching and e-mail support).

Step Four: Embedding Change and Review. Review and evaluation of the coaching relationship will take place at key milestones.

Step Five: Evaluation and Follow-up.

A coaching programme is usually 6, 9 and 12 month in duration
